From Shelly Manne's drumset. Maple shell bass drum in black fiber case. Case has a paper sign that reads, "#28- SET OF DRUMS OWNED AND PLAYED BY SHELLY MANNE, IN FOUR CASES" and in white painted letters, "MUSICIANS TRANSFER 469-8747, SET NO. 363 1/2". The bass is 35.6cm deep and 61.0cm wide at the rim. The head is calfskin with holes and duct tape in four places. The head is battered and has many stick marks on it. No back head. Inside is stamped "M JUN 65". Butterfly lugs around edge eliminate need for key. Hardware stand attached to top of drum, accessories for other stands built onto frame. Rim #2 is loose on top of drum, waiting for another head (as of 2002). |
